During 2012, TFT will be conducting the following courses.   Spaces are currently available in all courses.

    Range Safety Officer Certification Training:    July 28.

    NRA Basic Pistol:      May 26;  June 9;  July 14;  August 11;  September 8;
                                        October 6;  November 10.

   "Ladies Only" NRA Basic Pistol:    May 12;  June 16;  August 18;  September 15;  
                                                              October 13;  November 17.

    Comprehensive Indiana Gun Law:    June 23;  August 25;  October 20;  December 1.

    Personal Protection in the Home:     May 19;  July 7;  September 22;  November 24 

    Personal Protection Outside the Home:    June 2-3;  July 21-22;  September 29-30;  December 8-9.

    Tactical Shotgun:   To be announced.
           
To register, just click on the Online Registation button at the top of the page and select the course(s) you'd like to take.  When checking out, please put the course date you prefer in the "Note to Seller" box.

All classes begin at 9:00 am and will be held at Eagle Creek Pistol Range, 5820 N. High School Road, Indianapolis.  Courses usually end between 4:30 and 5:00 pm.

Training with TFT

If you are an Indiana gun owner, please ask yourself these questions:

Do you know the essential rules of firearm safety?

Are your marksmanship skills everything they should be?

Are you fully confident in your abilty to effectively use your firearm in a life or death situation?

Do you have a plan to defend yourself and your family in the event of a home invasion?

Do you know how you would react if a carjacker attempted to take your vehicle by force?

Tactical Firearms Training offers highly effective and interactive NRA firearms classes that combine classroom eduction and live fire exercises on the range.  These classes are taught by Guy A. Relford, a Certified Firearms Instructor and Range Safety Officer, and will provide the training necessary for you to confidently answer "YES" to all of the questions above, and many more.

        

                                                     
But your responsibilities as an Indiana gun owner don't end with your ability to use your firearm safely and effectively. 

Also ask yourself these questions:

Do you know when you can justifiably use deadly force to defend yourself under Indiana law - and when you cannot?

Do you fully understand Indiana's "stand your ground" law, and how that law affects your ability to protect yourself with a firearm? 

If your gun is lost or stolen and used in a crime or an accidental shooting, do you fully understand your potential criminal and/or civil liability?

If you are confronted in a "road rage" situation, can you legally use your firearm to protect yourself?

If your property is being stolen, can you use deadly force with a firearm to prevent the crime?

Do you understand how federal law affects when and where you can carry your firearm, even with an Indiana License to Carry Handgun?

Only Tactical Firearms Training combines sophisticated firearms training with comprehensive education on Indiana's gun laws, as well as applicable federal law, and how those laws affect you as an Indiana gun owner.  This education is also conducted by Guy Relford, a practicing Indiana attorney with over 25 years of experience.

Today, more and more women are buying firearms for personal protection.   In addition, many firearm manufacturers are designing handguns with women in mind, offering smaller, lighter handguns in effective calibers for personal defense.

Tactical Firearms Training offers a relaxed, fun environment for women to learn the skills necessary to safely and effectively protect themselves and their families through our "Ladies Only" Basic Pistol Classes.

What to Bring:

For NRA Basic Pistol, please bring the following items to the course:

    Handgun (any modern, safely functioning revolver or semi-automatic pistol is acceptable)
    At least 50 rounds of ammunition, suitable for your handgun
    Eye protection (wrap-around plastic goggles or sunglasses; glass is prohibited)
    Hearing protection (ear plugs are acceptable, but "muff style" hearing protectors are preferred)
    Note paper and ink pen
    Weather-appropriate clothing.  (The classroom is inside and heated/air conditioned; however 
        the range is only partially enclosed and partially exposed to the elements.)

Many shooters also prefer to wear a billed "baseball-style" hat at the range to protect against glare and ejected shell casings.

 

Personal Protection in the Home requires at least 100 rounds of ammunition.

Personal Protection Outside the Home requires at least 200 rounds of ammunition, as well as a secure holster or gun purse (with a compartment solely for the firearm that allows for the gun to be held securely in place).  If using a holster, clothing that completely conceals the handgun is also needed.
